BUFFING WHEEL RAKE FOR METAL POLISHING$25.84
A buffing wheel rake is used to clean up the edge of an Airway Buffing Wheel while it’s running on a lathe or an angle grinder.
The buffing wheel should be spinning at it’s normal speed and the rake should be held securely when held up to a stationary bench grinder or lathe.
On a grinder, please exercise caution when raking.
We recommend using your feet to hold the rake to the ground and holding the angle-grinder to the rake to remove compound and soften the edges.
RENEGADE 8 “AIRWAY BUFFING WHEEL–SATIN FOR ANGLE GRINDER$26.87
Our Satin Airway Buffing Wheel is a must-have when restoring hazy metals subjected to the elements, such as wheels.
It’s a great follow-up to our Surface Prep Buff and Blend Discs, as it works to blend and feather in the lines that may be
left from the initial cutting. Satin Airway Buffing Wheels are also a perfect lead-in to our Orange and Yellow Airway
Buffing Wheels, lending a finish comparable to a 320 or 400 Grit sanding before polishing.
RENEGADE 9″ AIRWAY BUFFING WHEEL–ORANGE$26.87
Our Renegade orange Airway buffs are manufactured and treated in a way that they offer resistance and some aggression when used.
On alloy they’re a very first cutting step, some might suggest you use a sisal first, but our experiences show that sisals of all types tend to peen the surface,
Where as the Orange Airway buff, while having aggression when used with the right compound can cut like stink, yet not damage the alloy or parent material underneath.
Now while it’s true you can mix and match all compounds and all mops for varied applications and needs,
as a tip we’ve found on alloy, the orange Airway buff works best with our T2 compound, our customers say the same.
RENEGADE 9″ AIRWAY BUFFING WHEEL–PINK$26.87
Our Renegade Pink treated Airway buff is a great all-rounder.
A little softer, this buff is specifically good when used as a one step cut and finish on Stainless to remove light scuffing and brush marks that you might see on Stainless Prime Mover bling.
It’s soft enough to leave a great surface finish on its own when used with our Series 3 stainless finishing compound bar.
You’ll find it had just the right amount of cut, coupled with the perfect amount of flexibility to produce a shine on Stainless
that is second to none. Now, if you have some heavily marked Stainless, contact us, and we’ll step you through a 2 step Stainless process that will give you results that will surprise you.
RENEGADE 9″ AIRWAY BUFFING WHEEL–RED RAZOR$26.87
Our Renegade Red Razor cut buffs have been manufactured with the task of cutting any surface in mind.
We’ve seen this product used widely to quickly cutting back side steps on trucks, these are always tough to re-work, because they pretty much act like a cheese grater on most mops.
The Red Razor cut buff is stitch re-enforced for strength and is made a little narrower to slip between the holes punched into the side steps.
We’d recommend our T 2 Brown compound for use with this buff, let it do all the hard work then flow on to the Yellow Buff and Infinity green to bring up a great surface shine.
RENEGADE 9″ AIRWAY BUFFING WHEEL–UNTREATED WHITE$26.87
Our Renegade range of Airways has you covered, be it, Blend, Cut or Colour
Correct choice of Airway wheels is important when polishing. We often get asked about which wheel matches which buff, there are guidelines for this, but, these are only guidelines, and are absolutely able to be changed and modified Usually the harder of the Airway buffs (Orange, Red, Razor Cut) are used to cut out surface imperfections, sanding marks, staining on the surface etc.
The softer Airway buffs (Pink, Yellow and White) are more so used to promote the shine or colour the surface when you’re polishing. But there are so many systems that people use and variables, that it can be a little confusing. We’ve often given advice on this, and as we say to many people, there are not so much right or wrong ways, just different ways to get the job done, this is always relative to the particular type of finish you’re chasing…is it a flawless show shine…? or are you looking to just put a good shine on the item.

Looking to finish first….well here’s the buff to give you that perfect final touch
RENEGADE 9″ AIRWAY BUFFING WHEEL–YELLOW$26.87
Our Renegade Yellow treated Airway buff is constructed just like its Orange brother
the subtlety of a slight softer treatment brings real benefits.
The Yellow treat buff has the ability to bring up a really good polished finish or colour as many might say.
This buff can be used as part of a an easy two step system…Orange buff with Tricut compound, to cut the surface and give you a good base, the Yellow buff with our Infinity Green compound to bring up a bright crisp shine.
And again there can be variations to this, but the two step method for a solid shine is hard to beat.
